About us

Turning Wrenches opened in 2013 with a simple idea: European car owners in Louisville deserved dealer-level expertise without dealer-level prices or the dealership experience. More than a decade later, that’s still the whole business. We don’t service every make that pulls in. We service Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Metris vans — and we’ve built the shop around them.

That focus shapes everything. It’s why we invest in OEM brand-specific diagnostic equipment that most independent shops never buy, why our technicians are master-certified, and why our shelves carry the fluids and parts that meet each manufacturer’s specification. When your car comes in, the tools, the procedures and the experience are already in the bay.

Turning Wrenches is a family-owned shop. It’s owned by Levi Johnson, pictured here with his family, and located on N English Station Rd in eastern Louisville, convenient to St. Matthews, Middletown and Anchorage. When Stuttgart Specialists, a Louisville Porsche shop, joined Turning Wrenches, Porsche owners gained our full shop, our warranty and our offers.

How we work

1. We listen. You tell us what the car is doing, when and how often. Those details shorten diagnosis.
2. We diagnose with the right equipment. Factory-level scan tools, live data and guided tests find the cause instead of guessing at parts.
3. We explain and estimate. You get an itemized estimate with what’s urgent, what can wait and why. Nothing is repaired without your approval.
4. We repair to specification. OEM-quality parts, approved fluids and the manufacturer’s procedures, including any required coding or adaptations.
5. We stand behind it. Most repairs carry a 36-month / 36,000-mile nationwide warranty, and every visit is documented for your records.

Our warranty

Qualifying repairs are covered by a nationwide TECHNET limited warranty for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Because it’s nationwide, you’re covered on a road trip or after a move — not just in Louisville.
