Quick answer
Turning Wrenches performs full-synthetic oil changes for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Porsche and Sprinter vehicles at 1304 N English Station Rd in Louisville, KY. Every service uses oil that meets your manufacturer’s approval, an OEM-quality filter and a 25-point inspection. New customers pay $79.95 for Audi, BMW and MINI, $195 for Mercedes-Benz Service A or B, and get $79 off Porsche and Sprinter service.
Why European engines need the right oil — not just any synthetic
Most European manufacturers don’t simply call for “5W-30 synthetic.” They publish their own oil approvals, and the oil in your engine should carry the one written in your owner’s manual. Those approvals cover things a generic bottle doesn’t promise: protection for turbochargers and direct-injection fuel systems, low ash content for diesel particulate filters, and stability over long factory service intervals.
| Brand | Approvals you’ll see on the bottle |
|---|---|
| BMW & MINI | BMW Longlife-01, LL-01 FE, LL-04, LL-17 FE+ |
| Mercedes-Benz & Sprinter | MB-Approval 229.5, 229.51, 229.52, 229.71 |
| Audi | VW 502 00 / 505 00, VW 504 00 / 507 00, VW 508 00 / 509 00 |
| Porsche | Porsche A40, Porsche C30 |
The right approval depends on your exact engine and model year, so we look it up by VIN before your car goes on the lift. If your engine calls for a specific viscosity or low-ash formula, that’s what goes in — not whatever is in the bulk tank.
What’s included in every oil change
An oil change is also the best chance to catch small problems before they become expensive ones. Every service includes:
- Full-synthetic oil to your manufacturer’s approval (up to 6 quarts on coupon services) and an OEM-quality filter
- Coolant and all fluid levels checked
- Battery and charging system test
- Belts and hoses inspected
- Tire tread depth and pressure check
- Brake system inspection
- A/C temperature check
- 25-point vehicle inspection with a clear written summary
We reset your service indicator when we’re done, so your car’s own maintenance reminders stay accurate. If the inspection turns up something that needs attention, we show you what we found and give you an itemized estimate. Nothing is repaired without your approval.
Oil change pricing vs. Louisville dealers
Dealer oil changes on European vehicles often run well past $200. We called the local dealerships and asked for real prices on real vehicles:
| Vehicle & service | Turning Wrenches | Local dealer |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 Audi Q5 45 oil change | $175 | $240–280 (Audi Louisville) |
| 2024 BMW X3 xDrive30i oil change | $175 | $248 (BMW of Louisville) |
| 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 580 Service A | $195 | $399 (Mercedes-Benz of Louisville) |
| 2024 Porsche Cayenne oil change | $388 | $680 (Porsche Louisville) |
Dealer quotes were obtained by phone on 11/26/2025; prices vary by model. New customers can do even better with our current oil change coupons.
How often should you change the oil in a European car?
Most modern Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI and Porsche models use a condition-based or fixed service reminder that typically lands around 10,000 miles or once a year. Those intervals assume ideal conditions. Short trips, stop-and-go traffic on I-64 and the Watterson, summer heat, towing and turbocharged engines all shorten the life of the oil.
That’s why many Louisville owners choose to change their oil between 5,000 and 7,500 miles, especially on turbocharged engines. We’ll look at how you drive and give you an honest recommendation rather than a sticker that’s designed to bring you back early.
Mercedes-Benz owners: your car’s Flexible Service System alternates between Service A and Service B. We perform both for $195 — the local dealer quoted $399 for Service A on a 2024 GLE 580. See our Mercedes-Benz service page for details.

Will an independent oil change affect my warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can’t void your warranty just because maintenance was done somewhere other than the dealership. What matters is that the work follows the factory schedule with oil and parts that meet the manufacturer’s specification — and that you keep the records. We document every service with the oil approval, quantity, filter and mileage so you always have proof.
Book your oil change
Most oil changes take about an hour, and same-day appointments are often available. Book online or call (502) 821-3180. If you need to leave the car, ask about free loaners, our shuttle or pick-up.
